(1776 Channel) Two professors who joined the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s department of geography several years after Lolo Soetoro graduated had joint appointments at the East-West Population Institute beginning in 1969 and 1970.

Murray Chapman Ph.D. and Wilfred Bach had joint appointments to Manoa’s geography department and the East-West Population Institute according to the department’s official historical timeline.

Chapman also directed the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s population studies (PPST) interdisciplinary graduate certificate program where Dr. Onaka held the position of affiliate graduate faculty in population studies according to an online document published by the United Nations. Dr. Chapman appeared to have supervision over Dr. Alvin Onaka.

Dr. Onaka was still listed as an “affiliate graduate faculty” member as recently as 2008-2009.

Lolo Soetoro, President Obama’s stepfather, graduated with an M.A. in Universtiy of Hawaii at Manoa’s geography department in 1964.
