(1776 Channel) Former Hawaii Director of Health Loretta “Deliana” Fuddy A.C.S.W., M.P.H. coauthored an academic paper with a University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Ph.D. candidate who was previously her intern at the Hawaii department of health, two UIC professors, a CDC physician and Hawaii’s USDA WIC program director, 1776 Channel has discovered.
The University of Illinois at Chicago is competing against the University of Chicago, the University of Hawaii and Columbia University to become the future site of the Barack Obama Presidential Library.
Former Weather Underground member and suspected communist domestic terrorist William Ayers was a tenured professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago until his retirement in 2010.
President Obama has endured continued criticism for his connections to Ayers.
Fuddy’s connection to UIC dates back to at least 2007, according to a power point presentation obtained from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The title of the paper is “Relationship between gestational weight gain and birth weight among clients enrolled in the Special Supplemental Nutrition for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Hawaii, 2003-2005.”
The paper was published in the “Maternal and Child Health Journal” in July 2014, approximately seven months after Fuddy perished in the Pacific Ocean following a plane crash.
The coauthors are of paper are:
– Izumi Chihara, M.D., M.P.H., a 2007 Hawaii department of health intern who reported to Fuddy. Fuddy was chief of the Hawaii department of health family health services division at the time of Chihara’s internship. Chihara is a UIC Ph.D. candidate according to her LinkedIn page.
– Arden S. Handler, Dr.P.H., UIC professor of community health sciences and director of the UIC Maternal and Child Health Program.
– Donald K. Hayes, M.D., M.P.H., U.S Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta, assigned to the Hawaii department of health
– Loretta Fuddy, Hawaii director of health
– Linda Chock, Hawaii department of health, USDA WIC program administrator for Hawaii
– Deborah Rosenberg, Ph.D. UIC Research Assistant Professor
Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie appointed Fuddy to the position of Hawaii director of health in early 2011.
Fuddy’s appointment came shortly after the abrupt withdrawal of physician Neal Palafox’s nomination.
“Gov. Neil Abercrombie asked Dr. Neal Palafox to withdraw his nomination as director of the state Department of Health” wrote the Honolulu Star-Advertiser on January 28, 2011.
Loretta Fuddy issued a Hawaii department of health waiver in 2011 allowing the release of Barack Obama’s long-form Hawaii “Certificate of Live Birth.” Fuddy issued the waiver after she received a letter from President Obama’s attorney, Judith Corley of the Perkins Coie law firm.

Corley allegedly flew to Honolulu to pick up two certified copies of President Obama’s “Certificate of Live Birth” and hand-delivered them to the White House on the evening of April 26, 2011.
Fuddy, age 65, died in the Pacific Ocean during the chaotic minutes that ensued after a Cessna Caravan 208B she was aboard ditched near the island of Molokai, Hawaii on December 11, 2013.
Fuddy’s death was the only reported fatality from the incident. Eight people survived, including the pilot and Hawaii Deputy Health Director Keith Yamamoto.
Fuddy’s coauthor and former intern Chihara, who studied medicine in Japan, took to Facebook to expressed sadness following the untimely death of her former boss:
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Loretta “Deliana” Fuddy. My condolences to family, friends, and the staff in this time of sorrow. She was my boss when I did my internship at Hawaii Department of Health in 2007. She was the Chief of Family Health Services Division then, and later became the director of health. She was looking forward to another busy year next year… She was well-liked by the Governor, I think, so she was planning to continue on. We had recently communicated after I passed my prelims. She always cheered me with her aloha spirit. A caring person and a great leader, whom I looked up to… Deliana, I miss you very much.” – Facebook post by UIC Ph.D. candidate Izumi Chihara
Fierce competition for the Barack Obama Presidential Library
UIC proposes to develop 23 acres of city-owned property in the North Lawndale neighborhood to build the Barack Obama Presidential Library. UIC is bidding against the University of Chicago, Columbia University and the University of Hawaii.
The Boston Globe reports that the University of Chicago is the likely frontrunner in the competition.
“Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said he’d move “heaven and earth” to bring the Obama presidential library to Chicago” reports Chicago’s NPR affiliate WBEZ 91.5. A final decision from the Barack Obama Foundation is expected in late March.
Are they buying Valerie Jarret’s slums that she once tried to bring the Olympis to Chicago for the purpurpose of selling those same slums for a cash killing…but now it’s the library complex….thieves
Why is this significant?
Because it puts Fuddy in the orbit of Ayers, the man/terrorist who launched Obama’s political career.
All together now… It’s a small world after all…
